There was an amazing oil painting over the fireplace that lit up the room. I sought out the artist, picked up a palette knife and began to paint and study art in earnest. As an artist my goal is to paint not only what I see, but what I feel. My faith, my family and my inherent love and awe for the natural world provide unending inspiration for me. Next to family and friends, travel is my great joy in life and the countries I have visited as well as the people I have met continue to inspire my art and my writing.
Karen is an abstract impressionist who paints primarily in oil. She has studied with several notable oil painters, to include her friend and mentor, Geri Eubanks, Qiang Huang and Barbara Davis.
Karen is constantly inspired by her four young grandchildren, which has led to numerous acrylic and mixed media works for nurseries, playrooms and family spaces.
I want to see the world…for the beauty, for the art, for the inspiration.
My first great love was a horse named Beauty. Dozens of dogs, cats, bunnies and birds later, I now reside with two awesome kitties, Sebastian and Annabelle.
I’m a hopeless romantic who finds great joy in creating and capturing the beauty I encounter.
